Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions set out the rules for using GCSE Online Tutoring.uk and our online GCSE tutoring service.
Introduction
These Terms and Conditions set out the rules for using gcseonlinetutoring.uk and our online GCSE tutoring service. By booking a lesson or using our website, you agree to these terms.
If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use the website or tutoring service.
About These Terms
These terms govern the relationship between you, as the parent, guardian or student, and GCSE Online Tutoring.uk.
We may update these terms from time to time. The most recent version will always be posted on this page.
About Our Tutoring Service
We provide online GCSE tutoring for students in the UK. Lessons are delivered by tutors who specialise in GCSE subjects.
The service includes one-to-one sessions and may include resources, revision support, exam preparation and homework support.
We do not guarantee specific outcomes or grade improvements. Success depends on factors such as the student’s effort, attendance, participation and individual learning needs.
Who Can Use the Service
Our tutoring service is intended for parents, guardians and students preparing for GCSE exams, typically aged 13–16.
By booking lessons, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old or have permission from a parent or guardian.
Parent and Guardian Responsibility
Parents or guardians are responsible for supervising students during online sessions where appropriate and ensuring the student follows the tutor’s guidance.
You must provide accurate information about the student’s year group, subjects, exam board, tier where relevant, and learning needs.
Student Participation
Students should attend sessions on time, be prepared with relevant materials and engage respectfully with tutors.
Failure to participate, attend regularly or complete agreed work may impact the effectiveness of the tutoring sessions.
Booking Lessons
To book lessons, please complete the enquiry or booking form on our website. We will confirm lesson times based on tutor availability and the information provided.
Availability is not guaranteed and may depend on subject demand, tutor schedules and the student’s specific requirements.
Free Class or Trial Session
We may offer a free class or trial session for new students. The purpose of this session is to discuss the student’s needs and see how online tutoring works.
The free class does not create an ongoing tutoring contract. After the session, you can decide whether to book additional lessons.
Tutor Availability
Tutor availability may vary. We will do our best to match you with a suitable tutor, but we cannot guarantee availability for specific subjects, tutors, days or times.
In some cases, we may suggest an alternative tutor, subject arrangement or schedule.
Lesson Scheduling
Lessons are scheduled at mutually agreed times. Please inform us of any changes as soon as possible.
If you need to reschedule or cancel a lesson, please follow the cancellation procedure described in our Refund Policy. Repeated cancellations or no-shows may affect future bookings.
Payments and Fees
Payments for paid lessons are due in advance unless otherwise agreed. The cost of lessons may depend on the subject, tutor availability and lesson arrangement.
Payment instructions will be provided separately. Prices are stated in pounds sterling and may be subject to change.
Any promotional offers, discounts or package arrangements will be explained at the time of booking.
Cancellations and Missed Lessons
If you need to cancel or reschedule a lesson, please let us know within the cancellation notice period stated at the time of booking or in our Refund Policy.
Cancellations made within the required notice period may be eligible for a refund, reschedule or credit. Cancellations made after this time may not be refundable.
Refunds
Refunds are subject to our Refund Policy. We do not provide refunds for lessons that have already been delivered.
Please refer to the Refund Policy for details on cancellation notice periods, refund eligibility and refund processing.
Online Lesson Conduct
Tutors and students are expected to behave respectfully during online sessions. We do not tolerate abusive, discriminatory, threatening or inappropriate behaviour.
We reserve the right to terminate a lesson or discontinue support if conduct is inappropriate.
Technical Requirements
To join online lessons, you need a reliable internet connection, a computer or tablet, access to the agreed online platform and a quiet place to study.
We are not responsible for technical issues on the user’s side, including poor internet connection, device problems or failure to access the lesson platform.
Student Safety and Appropriate Behaviour
We aim to provide a safe learning environment. Parents or guardians should ensure that the student’s equipment and online environment are safe and suitable for learning.
Parents or guardians should also ensure that the student understands appropriate online behaviour during tutoring sessions.
Educational Support Disclaimer
Our tutoring is intended to support the student’s education. It is not a substitute for the teaching provided by the student’s school.
Tutors may provide guidance, explanations, practice and feedback, but responsibility for school attendance, homework completion and exam entry remains with the student, parent, guardian or school as applicable.
No Guaranteed Results
We make no claims of guaranteed grade improvements, exam success or specific academic outcomes.
Progress depends on many factors, including attendance, effort, revision habits, individual learning needs and exam performance.
