This policy explains how RS Remote Tutoring and GCSE Online Tutoring recruit, review, onboard and support tutors before they begin working with students.

RS Remote Tutoring and GCSE Online Tutoring operate as two sister companies committed to delivering high-quality online education through carefully selected and professionally onboarded tutors.

Our onboarding process is designed to maintain strong academic standards, safeguarding compliance, professionalism and an excellent experience for both tutors and students.

1. Initial Tutor Enquiry & Expression of Interest

The onboarding process begins when either:

  • A tutor reaches out expressing interest in joining the platform.
  • Our recruitment team approaches a tutor whose qualifications and experience appear suitable for our students.

Initial discussions may include:

  • Subjects offered.
  • Academic background.
  • Tutoring experience.
  • Curriculum familiarity, including GCSE, A-Level, KS2 and KS3.
  • Exam board expertise.
  • Availability and scheduling.
  • Online teaching setup.
  • Safeguarding suitability.

2. CV Submission & Professional Review

Prospective tutors are required to submit an up-to-date professional CV outlining:

  • Academic qualifications.
  • Tutoring and teaching experience.
  • Relevant certifications.
  • Subject specialisms.
  • Online teaching experience.
  • DBS or safeguarding status where applicable.

All applications are reviewed internally by the onboarding and recruitment team of RS Remote Tutoring and GCSE Online Tutoring.

Applications are assessed based on:

  • Country of residence and timezone.
  • Subjects and levels taught.
  • Exam boards covered.

  • DBS information where applicable.
  • Online teaching setup.
  • References and professional background.
  • Payment and invoicing details where required.
Completion of onboarding documentation does not automatically guarantee acceptance onto the platform.

5. Tutor Welcome Pack & Policy Review

Following successful review, tutors are provided with a comprehensive Tutor Welcome Pack outlining the operational procedures and professional expectations of both sister companies.

The Tutor Welcome Pack contains important information every tutor should understand before joining us. It explains how tutoring works through RS Remote Tutoring and GCSE Online Tutoring, including professional standards, lesson expectations, safeguarding responsibilities, platform use and communication guidelines.

6. Formal Interview & Assessment Where Required

Depending on the tutor’s experience level, subject area or student requirements, a formal interview or assessment stage may also be conducted.

This stage may involve:

  • Curriculum knowledge review.
  • Mock teaching demonstration.

Following successful completion of onboarding stages, tutors may be internally approved for activation.
